From simple beginnings in 1917 to serving 6,500 families and businesses today.
Our roots trace back to 1917, when the S. Nissley Gingrich Agency began faithfully providing insurance services to businesses and families in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and surrounding areas. While the name changed to Gingrich Stoudt Insurance Agency in the mid 1970's, a commitment to providing quality insurance management and value-added services remained the same. In 1981, Gingrich Stoudt became a proud member of the Horst Group, a diversified group of companies with a 100-year history of construction and property management. Since that time, our emphasis has been on growing our client base one referral at a time, while managing an acquisition strategy that targets select geographic regions and services. 
Acquisitions during those years included the Jones-Zink Agency, Hershey-Gibbel Managing General Agency and Lovell Insurance. In 1998, a series of acquisitions - including T.C. Hall & Company, Associated Professional Services, Eberle Insurance and Watson Insurance Associates - established a Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania branch office and a strong presence in the Delaware Valley. More recently, the 2004 acquisition of Peterson Harvey Associates established a branch office in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.In September 2005, we expanded in our home county by adding Witwer Insurance Agency of Ephrata and our growth has continued with the recent addition in December 2008 to include InsuranceMasters of Lancaster to our team.
In 1999, all Horst Group businesses adopted our parent company's identity - becoming Horst Insurance and sharing the strong brand characteristics the Horst Group is known for: honesty; integrity; and doing the right thing.
